Don’t Providence My Scituate
Local Control · Zoning & Land Use
Zoning, land use, and development decisions belong to the people who live here. Scituate is the only municipality in Rhode Island without a home rule charter, which makes the General Assembly effectively our governing document — and makes this seat unusually consequential. Lou will oppose one-size-fits-all state housing mandates that treat a rural town like a city block.

Our Schools, Our Call
Education · Local Boards & Parents
Elected local school committees and the parents who show up to their meetings should be making the calls about our kids. Lou’s job at the State House is to defend that authority, and to fight for a state funding formula that doesn’t quietly penalize a small rural district.

Cut the Tax Burden
Affordability · What It Costs to Stay
The real estate conveyance tax, a non-portable estate tax, and a new surcharge on non-owner-occupied property all landed on Rhode Island families in the last two years. Lou sees each of them on settlement statements every week, and will work to roll them back.

Keep Our Doctors
Access to Care
Rhode Island can’t keep the physicians it has or attract the ones it needs. Lou will work on reimbursement, licensing, and the cost of practicing here. In a district where the nearest hospital is a drive, physician supply is a practical problem, not a policy abstraction.

2nd Amendment
Second Amendment Rights
Rhode Islanders have a constitutional right to keep and bear arms. Lou opposes the statewide ban on the sale, manufacture, and transfer of certain semi-automatic firearms, and supports policy that targets actual criminals instead of law-abiding sportsmen, hunters, and homeowners. He is a member of the Cranston Fish & Game Association.
